The JCG Story

The Jeff Cole Group (JCG) was founded in 2002 with a mission to help people improve their businesses and their lives.   The Group in JCG is a network of experienced affiliates who come together as their skill sets meet client needs.

Improvement is our passion.  We help clients achieve their goals by blending the finest in proven process improvement and organization behavioral change practices, tools, and methods.

In short – we relieve pain.  We assist clients who are experiencing delays, dissatisfaction, excess confusion, cost, waste or rework, falling short on key metrics, or just not progressing fast enough.   Our goal is to help you fully realize your organization’s capabilities.

JCG Founder Jeff Cole has personally trained, coached, and consulted with over 6000 people across a wide variety of industries.  (Literally from duck farms to the Department of Defense.)   Clients range from healthcare, service, manufacturing, governments, finance, retail, high tech, low tech and no tech.   We have been equally comfortable consulting with celebrity CEOs featured on the cover of Business Week to the grease-covered heroes working in the boiler room, keeping the daily work flowing.

We have experience in a spectrum of environments –  clients with extremely dysfunctional cultures to clients going on to with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

Jeff has also been proud to serve as the lead LSS instructor for Motorola (originators for Six Sigma), having had them as a client since 2003.   It is an honor that Motorola has chosen to refer all their clients and external training requests to Jeff’s practice.

No cookie-cutters here.   Our consulting approach is simple:  D – P – I    (Diagnose, Prescribe, Improve).  We understand that your business is unique, and appreciate the very real effect that organizational cultures and constraints can have on implementation.

When we consult with you we diagnose your situation, prescribe the best, tailored approach for you to achieve your goals, and help in the execution.

We are not there to sneak LSS through the back door, or cram it down a corporation’s throat.   It’s important to use the right approaches for the right situations.   We feel a fiduciary responsibility to advise you on what is correct for your circumstances.

Hostage Situations

People come to LSS in different ways.   It may be an individual who wants the credential to stay competitive.   Maybe an enlightened leader sees it as the path to the next level of results.   Some come to it because they experienced a wake-up-call crisis.

Others, quite honestly, are hostages.  The boss or Customer has forced them into this and they don’t want to be there.    You have to love these guys – and we’ve seen hundreds of them.   The good news:  we have experience in turning the skeptical hostages into fans who find true value in what they learn.

Jeff is a former quality executive with over 25 years of experience who has played every role in the Six Sigma process.   A few factoids:

  • He holds a BS in quantitative business analysis and an MBA in management.
  • He is a certified LSS MBB, holds the ASQ Black Belt and Quality Manager certifications, and is also certified in change management.
  • Jeff served two tours as a national examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
  • He serves as Motorola’s lead instructor and co-author of their LSS materials.
  • Jeff is a frequent speaker and author.
  • When he is not on the road working with clients, his hobbies include doing what his wife tells him to…
